Great songs and I've always thought the Stones do Chuck Berry much better than Chuck Berry.

Did you ever weasel out of an opportunity to witness?
by pmouse ini remember being a sophomore in high school and having some sort of discussion about religion in which the jw's and 1975 were brought up.
i can still remember today how my history teacher snickered and made a snide comment about them forecasting the end of the world so many times before it wasn't funny which of course cracked up the entire class.
this was in the early 70's when the 1975 armageddon date was bandied about.

Taking the plunge - FIOS

i decided to go ahead and convert over to fiber optics for tv, internet, and phone.
i am intrigued at how fast the 15/2 speed internet will be compared to dsl.. jk.

I have to say it's great. Been connected for about a year now and even getting on someone else's DSL is intolerably slowwwwwwwwww.
TV seems to be clearer even on the non-HDtv.
Phone is phone and that's that.
Of course as internet goes, most of the time I'm trying to find solutions for working with video!! Why oh why don't they just make this %@#$!# stuff WORK????? sorry. whole separate topic. -

So many Stones favs. I used to be a virtual "fan"atic but no so much anymore. I've got "time waits for no one" playing now. LOVE Mick Taylor's solo on this one. It sort of has a quality like the solo on "Jackie Blue" by the Ozark Mountain Daredebils. Very flowing and I do like them kinda solos.
I always liked Satanic Majesties. My brother bought that whilst we were at an assembly! HA, gotta love it! I think it has on it what must have been the very first reference to cyber sex!
Seen the Stones a couple years or so ago. I was surprised at how STRONG Jagger's voice seemed. Just a good night perhaps? lol
Anybody else have a DVD called "Being Mick"? An inside look at the "real" Jagger. Quite good I thought. -

Funny things you thought growing up -
by cognac in1. a "shower" as in "baby shower" or "wedding shower" was when a bunch of people got together to take a shower together.
which didn't go over well with me when my mom wanted to go to a shower without my dad.. 2. when my father said to my mom that he was going to marry somebody, as in do there vows or something, i thought he was going to marry somebody else and start another family.
i almost fainted when he told me that he was leaving to go do that.

I was about 9 or so and watching the news one night it was said that such and such criminal would be "re-hanged". I was in total shock, couldn't believe that such a thing would be carried out! Luckily for him he was only arraigned.
The mother of a once upon a time friend of mine told me this one. Seems my friend was very talkative when he was threeish. One day in the car he was standing in the seat and apparently had this astonished look about him. His mom asked what happened and he said "I just said something.....but you didn't hear me did you?" He just learned that he could think and no one could hear. I just always found that funny. -

I was 4 when my oldest brother and his friend forced me to "smoke" cigar. Only had a few puffs but that was more than enough to kill off that desire. I do remember drinking a huge bottle of soda right afterwards though. The joys of being young right?
